- For best results: choose an area with plenty of natural light or a well lit room.
- Choose a light colored, flat surface, or place two 8 1/2 by 11 sheets of white paper side by side.
| Place the tie on the paper or surface so the bottom 12" (including the point) is displayed. Tie may be folded 2-3 times. |

- Use an image quality setting of "M" or "S" on your digital camera. 1024 x 768 pixels is sufficient.

- Hold camera vertically, parallel with the tie, about 18" away from the tie.
- With a steady hand, photograpy the bottom 12" of the tie, including the point.
- Turn tie over to display the tag/label
- Hold the camera about 12"-16" away from the label and use the camera's zoom function to zoom into the label if neccessary. (Do not move camera closer, as blurring may occur the closer the camera is to the tie.)
